elow will be attached A1 and A4 and the 340 grading rubric to refer to. A1 and A4 need to be revised for Portfolio submission. They will be word docx and there should be comments in the margins. If the comments are not visible let me know. A1 needs a lot of work, so majority should be fixed/changed. A4 is already an A- grade so it needs less work, but still to be revised. Please do not change any of the thesis or any of the points from each side on the first page of the papers. Please just adjust the body of the papers. (for A1 if the sources need to be changed for improvement thats ok).

Please remember that while you are revising your A1 and A4 for portfolio, you should not just make the changes I suggested, but also think about all the things we have discussed in class re what makes strong writing...and revise your papers accordingly.
Your attitude to Portfolio revision should not just be "this needs fixing," but "Even if this (para/sentence/point) is good, can I make it better?"
Keep in mind that as long as your Portfolio papers are easily recognizably as the same as the original paper, you are welcome to make somewhat drastic changes such as: moving some paragraphs about, adding some arguments/CA/switching some paragraphs, switching some sources, adding or removing endnotes etc.
To this end, in addition to the various points on strengthening writing we've gone over in class, you could consider some of the following strategies while revising for Portfolio:
-- Carefully read the 340 Grading Rubric and think about areas you need to strengthen in your paper
-- Chunking (discussed in class)
-- Forcing your brain to look differently at your paper by printing it out.
-- Similarly, helping create objectivity and distance by having someone else read your paper out to you -- or reading it out yourself
-- Using the A4 Workshop 2 questions to think about your paper
