Overview
You will select one type of cancer as you address each of the three parts of this journal submission. First, if you are a male, review and discuss the risk factors, screening, and preventative measures for prostate cancer. If you are female, review and discuss the risk factors, screening, and preventative measures for breast cancer. If you choose not to reveal your gender, review and discuss the risk factors, screening, and preventative measures for lung cancer.
Next, summarize the different types of available treatments for your selected cancer. Include the specific purpose of each and give an example of why each would be used for the selected cancer.
Finally, VanMeter and Hubert (2023, p. 565) stated “For some types of cancer, such as lung cancer, there has been no significant improvement in the outcome even with aggressive treatment. For other cancers, such as certain childhood leukemias and Hodgkin lymphoma, effective treatment has been developed, and survival rates are much improved.” Reflect on why you think this is the case. What more needs to be done?
Your journal submission must be at least two pages but no more than three pages in length. A title page, if used, and the references page do not count toward this requirement. You must use at least two peer-reviewed or academic sources to support your journal submission. One of these sources must come from the AMU Online Library. All sources used must have citations and references properly formatted in APA Style.
