Assessment of national policy and/or reimbursement initiative
Develop a communication plan as though you are a Healthcare Leader communicating an organization’s strategic direction based on recent national policy and/or reimbursement initiatives aimed at improving patient access to care, high quality and low cost to patients. Students decide which policy or reimbursement structure to communicate across continuum.
Submit a 10-12 page paper (excluding Cover & Reference pages), including at least 5 current peer-reviewed sources.
- Pick a Policy
- Determine which national policy and/or reimbursement structure you would like to communicate.
- Pick a policy that connects to current challenges within healthcare around access, cost, and quality affecting the patient.
- Provide reasons you picked this policy to implement within your organization.
- The reasoning should include connection to patient access, cost, and quality.
- Use the provided SWOT Analysis Template to conduct an assessment of your policy brainstorming potential strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
- Strategic Plan
- Determine a strategic planning document outlining steps toward building a strategy.
- Include technology's role in ensuring high patient access, quality, and cost.
- Document the step-by-step strategy based on the policy chosen in the Policy chosen under "Pick a Policy".
- Use the provided project planning worksheet to brainstorm about how to implement this strategy.
- Communication Plan
- Should include why this policy or reimbursement structure is important to the organization.
- Should include a bigger connection to the global and national health crisis.
- Connect communication to the interconnectedness of a patient, their provider, and third-party payers
- Communicate technology’s role in ensuring high patient access, quality, and cost.
- Communication should include adult organizational learning concepts.
