In Week 3, you performed a search of the literature on a leadership topic and a leadership framework and selected articles to use for your Final Project. This week, you will perform a similar search but this time you will utilize different databases from the ones you searched previously. A single database does not capture all the available research on a given topic and the use of only one database can lead to an incomplete understanding of current evidence. A comprehensive search is needed to gain a complete picture of the research that has already been conducted and to identify any gaps in practice.
Your review of the literature in this course will not be as comprehensive as the one you will complete in the research phase of the program but will help you gain familiarity with the process. As you did in Week 3, you will use the Integrated Review Search Form to organize your literature and select three articles that best relate to your leadership topic and theoretical model to use for your Final Project.
- Use the literature search form to perform your search, and specify all databases, registers, websites, organizations, reference lists, and other sources searched or consulted to identify studies.
- Focus on databases that are different from those used in Part 1 of your Final Project.
To prepare for this Assignment:
- Locate three articles that best relate to your topic, framework, and area of interest.
- Fill out the Article Analysis Worksheet form in its entirety for each of the articles selected.
- Fill out the search form based on your search including where articles were found, how they were found, and when they were found.
- Specify all databases, registers, websites, organizations, reference lists, and other sources searched or consulted to identify studies.
- Specify search strategies, keywords, filters, and limits.
