Health & Medical Question

Nurse leaders play a crucial role in shaping healthcare policies and procedures within their practice sites. As they navigate this responsibility, it is imperative that they prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). By intentionally considering the unique needs of diverse patient populations, fostering an inclusive environment, and addressing systemic biases, nurse leaders can create policies that promote equitable care delivery. Whether it’s revising hiring practices, implementing cultural competency training, or ensuring language access, DEI principles must permeate every aspect of policy development. Ultimately, nurse leaders who champion DEI contribute to improved patient outcomes, staff satisfaction, and organizational excellence.

For this assessment, you will take on the role of an expert opinion on the recommendation from your previous two assessments. You will record a podcast episode, using the perspective of Developing Shared Values to Support Innovation using Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. In the episode, you will discuss the general and fine points of developing interprofessional team approaches to produce innovative outcomes giving examples from the previous two assessments related to the importance of breaking down hierarchical silos while supporting DEI (i.e., nurse-physician communication), encouraging inclusive conversation (e.g., giving voice to opposing views in collaborative discourse), defining the benefits of diversity of opinions (e.g., combining knowledge from various disciplines), and providing pivotal moments with team growth showcasing innovative outcomes that are produced from collaborative decision making. You will also use theoretical concepts and evidence-based information to support your expert opinion. You will discuss how ideas move from innovation to evidence-based practice using your recommendation from your previous two assessments.
