Develop an abstract that summarizes the work you have done in your previous assessments, and then create a policy for interprofessional evidence-based care within your organization.
Quality improvement begins with the end in mind. Up until now, you have researched the practice problem and developed a focused, evidence-based intervention to address a patient safety problem. The next step would be to implement the practice change and evaluate the change to determine the effect it had on the population. Now, developing a policy will help sustain the change.
Along the way, you will learn that as a leader in a health care organization, you will not only facilitate the steps of evidence-based practice, but you will apply evidence-based leadership strategies to serve as a role model for decision making in your organization. Your skills and ability to promote and encourage evidence-based behavior and decision making among staff, providers, and other leaders will be invaluable to creating and sustaining an evidence-based organization and a culture of evidence. Your own leadership style will influence how you support and model evidence-based processes at your organization.
For your final assessment, you will take all the information and research you have developed over the previous three assessments and create an abstract that defines the importance of each assessment focus, using specific examples. You will also use the previous three assessments to guide you in creating a policy that an organization can use to provide interprofessional evidence-based care.

For this assessment, you will be submitting two deliverables: an abstract and a policy document.
Abstract
Develop a one-page abstract that includes the following information:
- An introduction to include the knowledge it takes to develop interprofessional team partnerships for improved care delivery.
- An analysis of the literature that synthesizes research you used for the three prior assessments.
- A section on the types of approaches teams can take to become collaborative and innovative entities.
- A conclusion that speaks to the importance of applying scholarship of nursing using evidence-based ethical practice, developing communication to support interprofessional team approaches to quality care delivery, creating interprofessional partnerships to innovate with knowledge and value driven care delivery, and defines why we use system thinking for quality, cost effective, and evidence- based practice outcomes across the continuum of care.
Policy
Develop a policy for interprofessional evidence-based care that an organization can use as an outline with guidelines for practice. Include the following information in your policy document:
- Policy title.
- Policy statement.
- Paragraph on supporting scholarly literature, using six sources.
- 6–10 guidelines to follow for practice to develop evidence-based care with interprofessional teams.
- A separate reference list in APA format.
