This journal measures your mastery of ULOs 2.1 and 3.1.
For this journal, write at least three pages of content to answer the following questions.
- What are the components that make up a discharge summary?
- What are the Joint Commission’s standards regarding the discharge summary document? What are some issues that lead to delays in discharge summaries being completed?
- How do delays or inaccuracies in the discharge summary impact the health care revenue cycle?
Your response should be at least three pages in length, not counting a title page and a reference page. Include an introduction in the paper. Use at least two sources, of which one can be your textbook. Use APA Style to format your paper as well as to create citations and references for all sources used.
Part 2
Many compliance standards are aimed at the privacy and security of sensitive information. Outline a recent breach in information at a health care facility. What information was comprised? How did the organization work to correct the issue? In your opinion, could this event have been prevented?
