Healthcare issue discussion board reply

Overview

A healthcare problem that I would like to address is increased risk of mosquito borne disease in my city Frisco, Texas due to hot weather, stagnant water and increase summer outdoor activities.

Mosquito can transmit different virus like west Nile, Zika etc. to human and may increase risk of hospitalization. Two pools are tested positive for West Nile virus in Frisco this month. Warm climate and stagnant water have boosted mosquito habitat and raised possibility of disease outbreak. Although public health organizations are monitoring it majority of people are ignorant of precautions.

Mosquito borne illness can have a substantial impact on community health, so this topic is crucial. Most serious issue may arise in vulnerable group like children, pregnant women and elderly. Community wellbeing can be maintained by preventing mosquito bites and managing mosquito population.

This topic needs to be addressed now because in Texas temperature is raising so there is potential to increase numbers of mosquitos and prolong breeding season. So, problem must resolve immediately. Early prevention can stop spread of disease carried by mosquito. To safeguard the population health, healthcare professional, public health officials and community must collaborate for awareness and mosquito-control measure.
