  • What differences do you see between your thoughts now and your post in Module One?

Journals in this course are graded individually.

What to Submit

Discussion post that was submitted- I’m pursuing my Master’s in Public Health and coming from a background as a medic in the U.S. Air Force. That experience is honestly what pushed me toward public health in the first place you see a lot in that role, and it makes you think beyond just treating individual patients. I’m taking this course because infectious disease is the area I want to build my career in, and I know I can’t do that well without understanding how health issues play out globally. If I had to name the biggest global health issue right now, I’d say pandemic preparedness or really the lack of it. COVID showed the whole world just how fast things can unravel, but what stuck with me most was how differently countries experienced it. Wealthier nations had vaccines, resources, and infrastructure. A lot of lower-income countries were basically left behind. That gap didn’t appear overnight, and it’s not going away on its own. Until the world gets serious about building health systems that can actually respond in real time everywhere, not just in well funded places we’re always going to be playing catch up when the next outbreak hits.-
