Topic 1: Healthy People 2030
Healthy People 2030 outlines national priorities designed to improve health outcomes across the United States. After reviewing this week’s materials, select three health issues relevant to your community. From those three, choose one priority health problem that you believe is most urgent. This will become your selected health problem for the entire course.
In your discussion, address:
- What your selected health problem is and why it matters
- Why this issue is significant for your community or population
- Potential secondary conditions or complications if the issue is not addressed
- Criteria or risk factors that identify who is most vulnerable
Topic 2: U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF)
Visit the USPSTF website: U.S. Preventive Services Task Force website and review the recommendations related to your selected health problem.
Then discuss:
- USPSTF recommendations for your chosen issue
- Strengths or benefits of this resource for clinicians, communities, and patients
- Any modifications or enhancements you would make to the guidance, especially as it relates to your selected health problem.

As a reminder, all discussion posts must be a minimum of 350 words initial, references must be cited in APA format 7th Edition, and must include a minimum of 2 scholarly resources published within the past 5 years [2022-2026].
