Part 1
Using the HP2030 website, identify an objective for a health concern that interests you. This might be something you discovered during your windshield survey and be your topic for your Health Promotion Deliverable (but it doesn’t have to be!).
Answer the following questions:
- What is the Core Objective and why did you select it? What is the status of the objective?
- Who is the target population for this objective?
- What USPSTF recommendation(s) correlate with this HP2030 goal?
- Identify a primary, secondary, or tertiary intervention to help address this HP2030 objective and how it might be used to achieve a SMART goal that you’ve written.
Part 2
Conduct research to find material that contradicts the evidence-based data you gathered. It’s important to understand all the material available to our patients. When you realize how much misinformation is on the internet, it’s easier to understand how and why patients become so overwhelmed and confused when it comes to their health. This material does not have to be a recent or peer reviewed source. Maybe it’s a clickbait article from Facebook.
Answer the following questions:
- Identify the material that contradicts your data and explain the misinformation or put it in context.
- Describe a strategy you might use to overcome it.
Note: The internet is a vast resource to conduct your research so you should be able to find information for just about any topic. However, if you can’t find any examples of misinformation specifically related to your topic, feel free to chose any topic for which you can readily find examples of misinformation to answer the questions in Part 2 of this discussion. COVID, Vaccines, Sunscreen are some great examples. Remember, your options are endless.
Include the website or other source where you retrieved the information in APA format.
