Here are some messages from the instructor...
I thought I'd share the responses I gave to one of your peers about the interview in hopes the responses can help all of you.
1 You don't need to record the interview. In fact, many people don't want to be recorded, so I expect you likely won't record it. Do take notes to use to remember what they said to write the analysis.
2 On the final admission, I want only your analysis. I don't need the list of questions or responses. I'll be able to tell if you asked good questions based on what you wrote. I do recommend you create questions ahead of time and then examine them to see if it will get you the information you need. You also may need to ask for follow-ups during the interview to get clarity.
3 If there are two chapters on a power point, that is two different chapters and will be counted as such in meeting the requirement.
4 I definitely need you to bold each concept so I can see what you are covering more easily. It would be helpful to intext cite what chapter the concepts are from, but you don't have to. I can pretty easily figure that out. If I can't, I'll reach out to you and ask what you are talking about. But DEFINTELY BOLD the concepts so I don't skip by something.
5 As to formatting, please double space and use a 12-point font. I suspect it will take several pages, but it is the content and how well you develop it that I am scoring. Don't just "list" a concept, do an analysis of what the interviewee said and how you understand it in terms of the meaning it has.
PLUS: If per chance you are interviewing a "caretaker" or that issue comes up, there is a chapter that covers the caretaker. You can go to that chapter if it relates to something you heard and use it as well. Just bold it so I see it.As an aside--
As you are finalizing your submissions for the interview, please put in bold print each concept you are using and the chapter it is from. Thanks. That will make grading much easier as my time frame for completing the grades is short.
