Overview

Follow up question: Once the 49ers arrived in California things would never be the same for Indian tribes of the region. Conditions worsened for the Indigenous peoples when most of the gold seekers did not strike it rich. Needing a way to make a living they turned to farming, which meant the prospectors had to seize land from the region's tribes.
