Constitutional Laws Effecting Students and Teachers

Overview

Review the major educational changes identified in the SCOTUS (Supreme Court of the United States) cases and how they led to legislation. SCOTUS cases are as follows :Brown v. Board of Education (1954), Engel v. Vitale (1962), Tinker v. Des Moines Independent Community School Dist. (1969), Vernonia School Dist. (1995), Board of Education v. Earls (2002)

Note that you are not writing about the SCOTUS cases, though.

Select two Federal Laws that specifically affected students and two Federal Laws that specifically affected teachers as a result of these Constitutional changes. SCOTUS cases are not laws - think about laws that relate to the cases.

Do not use SCOTUS cases nor the Constitution (this includes Amendments as they are part of the Constitution). You must choose four separate total laws even if the laws you choose impact both students and teachers - be sure to explain the impact for the group you are focusing on.

Write a minimum 800-word paper explaining each of the four laws and how these laws have affected students and teachers within education. Be sure to include specifics and analysis.

Format and Submit your paper consistent with APA 7 guidelines, including an APA 7 Title Page, Introduction, Paper, Conclusion, and APA 7 Reference Page.
