Read and analyze the primary source Sex and Race Relations

1.) Basics: Identify the basic features of the document. (ie…What is the title of the document? What kind of document is it? Who is the intended audience? When was the document produced? Who produced the document?)
2.) Contextualize: What events/developments were swirling around the author at the time the document was produced?
3.) Purpose: What are the major points made in the document? What is the author’s purpose in creating the document? Tip – Be sure to integrate direct quotes from the document into your analysis.
4.) Historical Significance: What does the document say about the specific historical moment in which it was produced? (ie…what does it say about the beliefs, attitudes, material realities and social relations at the time it was produced?). Does the document illuminate a historical shift?
