Overview

• Choose an article you would like to write about. Remember this is a political science class.You can choose more than one if you like.
• Your essay should include a brief background (very brief) and, an analysis of the article your read. Keep in mind, I am looking for an analysis of the article –NOT A SUMMARY. Is the author biased? Is there a slant? Was the author objective? Is the author pushing an agenda? Do you agree or disagree? Why?
• Things to avoid:
  • Avoid too many quotes. I am looking for your outlook and analysis. I don't want a simple summary of the articles.
  • I suggest you try to find articles expressing different points of view. For instance, the New York Times and Wall Street Journal  will have two very different perspectives on the same topic. I don't know where most of you stand on politics, but in order to make this exercise more beneficial, I encourage you to look up the opposite points of your own. For instance if you lean left, look up some conservative opinions. If you are more conservative look into a more liberal perspective.
