Use the following reading to answer this question: James Grehan, Twilight of the Saints: Everyday Religion in Ottoman Syria and Palestine (Oxford: Oxford University Press, 2016), chapter 6
Using the framework by Kevin Reinhart of “Lived Religion” and “Ideal Religion”, explain everyday religious practices in Ottoman Syria and Palestine as uncovered by the historian James Grehan in his book chapter.
In your answer, remember to cite a few concrete examples of everyday religious practices. You are encouraged to use the Kevin Reinhart reading, but you are not obliged to – you may simply use my summary of Reinhart’s framework that I have shared with you during lectures in Week 4.
