Overview
In a paper analyze and discuss the following:
Choose one contemporary issue in applied ethics. This can be an issue covered in class or one not covered (there are several introduced in your text that we do not cover specifically in class you can use or choose your area of interest), but it should be one of general ethical interest.
Introduce the topic and briefly discuss the issue to lay a foundation for the rest of the paper. Then, discuss this topic from multiple perspectives, i.e. look at the arguments for and against whatever issue you are covering that are commonly made.
Once you have set the stage and laid out the varied perspectives, discuss the factual matters related to the issue as well as the philosophical questions related to the issue. Analyze the issue using at least 4 different philosophical perspectives we have discussed this term, i.e. utilitarianism, deontological, relativism, virtue, ethics of care, etc.
Lastly, reflect on this issue and develop an argument based on your perspective on the issue, incorporating ethical reasoning and critical analysis- this is an important part of this assignment so be sure to spend time analyzing and developing this section fully.
