Overview
Your Reflection Journal will include 10 short reflections (1 per week, although you
may write more!) in response to the weekly readings, films, or other course
materials. These are 1-2 paragraph reflections with no right or wrong answers and
meant as a way to help process the week’s course material. These are not essays.
You do not need thesis statements or introductions or conclusions. You will have the
following options for your weekly reflections and need only choose one peer week.
It is entirely up to you to decide which prompt to choose each week.
surprising, or important about this week’s reading assignment? Why?
understanding of Chicanx history? Identify and explain at least one key theme,
character, or storyline in the film to make your case.
week’s episode of Anything for Selena that you find especially important or
impactful? Why is it important or impactful for you and/or why is it relevant
to larger debates in Chicanx history?
It is your responsibility to write your reflections on a weekly basis, collect them into
a single PDF or word document beginning with week 1 and ending with week 10,
and submit via Canvas by the due date. Each reflection should be dated, typed,
double spaced in 12-point font, with 1-inch margins on all sides.
