History: Cultural Artifacts Assignment

• Objective:
  Explore and understand different historical perspectives by identifying and analyzing artifacts. For this assignment, you must select from one of my chosen artifacts. Only an analysis of one of these will meet the assignment requirements. Others will receive a 0. You may not use any sources but the ones I have provided below. You must cite your information. You may not work with others. Assignment Description:
  In this assignment, you will discuss one of my provided artifacts (see below). Discussion of any other article will receive a 0. You must cite information from our e-text, the World History Encyclopedia, or my lectures only.

  Artifact: Pick One and only one:

  The Parthenon Frieze or The Apadana Reliefs

  Contextual Analysis
  • • Provide a brief description of the artifact.
    • Explain the cultural and historical context of the artifact.
    • Discuss why this artifact is significant within its culture.
    • Reflect on any similarities or differences in what this culture considers significant compared to others.
  Submission Details:
  Post your analysis, including:
  1. Title of the Artifact
  2. Source/Culture of the Artifact
  3. Description and Context (250 words minimum)
  4. Explanation of Significance (250 words minimum)
  5. Response to One Other Student’s Post (150 words minimum)
