Overview
Social media will one day become—in some instances it already has become—a new tool for historians when gathering primary source material for analysis on people, places, events, etc. in the future.
For this project you will be required to create a social media page using the template I provide for a historical person—from the time period we cover in class, 1900 through 1995—you are interested in learning more about.
You will need to include the following:
- Name of historical person
- Profile picture
- Cover photo
- Social media posts they would make
- Minimum of ten posts
- Can include photos in the post, but there also must be a written portion of the post as well
- Minimum of ten posts
- About section
- Minimum of 600 words
- About them
- Name Pronunciation
- Other Names
- Quotes and Why They Are Significant Quotes
- Life Events
- Friends
- Photos [Minimum of ten photos]
- Bibliography/Works Cited done in Chicago Style
The majority of your grade will be based on the about section of your project. I will be grading heavily here on research, grammar, spelling, proper use of citations, etc. Any information that is not considered 'general knowledge'--information you can easily think of right off the top of your head--needs to be properly cited in Chicago Style. A walk through video and quick citation guide will be made available for you for creating Chicago Style footnotes for this project.
