Purpose of the Assessment

Now that you have completed the readings and the Milestone activities, you are ready to put it all together. We are in in this competency, examining how economic factors are effected by politics, society, and state development. And how politics, society and state development are influence by economics. There are many factors to consider in this analysis. Look at our competency above.

Items Required for Submission

To demonstrate your competency, you will write an essay of 1200-1500 words that answers the following question:

In each of the periods under review, analyze how economic factors were effected by politics, society and state development and how economic factors effect politics, society and state development. This effects be contained in political and economic ideologies or philosophical ideas that guide the Chinese government and/or the economy. It can also be affected by the ambitions or ideas of foreign powers or radical revolutionaries. The key task is to frame your analysis around two historical events and/or two ideas in each historical period: Your choice. There are more, but for the purpose of this assessment, chose the two that, in your opinion, are the most historically significant.

Step 1: Preparation

Where do you start? Review your Milestone activities. Review any comments I made regarding how you utilized the material you reviewed to create answer and any recommendations I made to improve your exposition. You should also review any of the readings again that you feel are useful as sources.

Step 2: Form

Structure your essay into sections. We covered five major times periods. And essay with five corresponding time periods as sub headings, framed with an introduction (which must include a thesis statement) and a concluding paragraph. That creates an essay with 240-300 words per subheading topic, but it is natural that some topics allow for more subject material than others. You should use the best examples to demonstrate your points in each section.

Step 5: Complete Checklist for Submission

Before you submit, check to see if you believe you have met the criteria noted below. Did you….

• • Submit your word as a properly formatted document? Font should be 12 point Times New Roman. Sub-headings may be 14-point font. Use 1.5-line spacing. Please number your pages. Your essay is to be a minimum of 1200 words. While 1500 words will earn a better score, try to be concise and not exceed 2000 words.
  • Include a minimum of two credible, academic sources from our collection of readings in each of your 5 sub- headings for a minimum total of 10. and include in-text citations and a reference page?
  • Make sure each of the 5 subjects has two examples of key events or ideas?
  • Write logically with accurate spelling, grammar, and punctuation?
  • Adhere to the length requirements?
  • Follow APA formatting and referencing standards?
  • Convert all files to a doc or docx file (Word or rtx format is preferable)?
