Overview
How would you characterize the relationship between Europeans and Native Americans during the first years after contact in 1492? What misconceptions and perceptions did each group have of the other? How did their views toward land use shape their worldviews? Be sure to comment on the views of the Aztecs (as recorded by León-Portilla), King Ferdinand, and Bartholome de las Casas concerning how the two cultures should relate to one another.
