For the following Reflection Paper, pick one of the topics below and write a 500-word essay addressing the question posed. Be sure to include historical examples from the module as you share your opinion. ( I attached the module readings and assignment rubric)
- What did you find most impressive about the Indian civilizations of the New World, and what surprised you the most about their civilizations?
- Why were the conquistadores able to conquer such large Indian civilizations (such as the Aztec and Inca) with so few men?
- How did the English colonize the New World, and how was this different than other European nations such as Spain and France?
- Who were Captain John Smith, Chief Powhatan, Pocahontas, and John Rolfe, and what did they contribute to the story of Jamestown?
- Who were William Bradford and John Winthrop, and what did they and the Pilgrims contribute to American history-what was the importance of the Mayflower Compact and the City on a Hill sermon?

It is not meant to be an assignment in which you need to go look up outside sources to answer the questions. Use the American Yawp readings, primary sources readings, videos, and any other material covered to write your reflection paper. It will be graded on length (500 words) and addressing all the questions. As always, this reflection paper must be your own work. Do not copy anything from an internet source and paste it into your reflection paper, and do not use AI (artificial intelligence) programs such as CHAT GPT. Your paper will be run through the academic integrity tool Turn-It-In to check for plagiarism and use of AI.
