You will read the Virginia Declaration of Rights and write a 2-3-page essay discussing what ideas you saw that show an influence over other founding documents of America and how the Enlightenment impacted Virginia’s and America’s founders. The required paper length does not include the title page or bibliography.
The assigned document can be found on the National Archives website. A direct link is listed under the Reflection Essay Resources for this assignment in Canvas. Learn items assigned in this module will be helpful resources for completing this assignment. Any outside sources consulted must be scholarly sources as defined under the Course Policies in the Course Syllabus.
All citations must be in proper, current Turabian formatting. This includes both footnotes in the body of the essay (for all paraphrases and direct quotes from the assigned founding document and any other sources you consult) and a bibliography at the end of it. The bibliography does not count toward the paper length.
