Overview
This week, we are being introduced to a topic that affects every business, namely, Intellectual Property ("IP").
However, if you look at the list of types of intellectual property below, you will see why I am confident that every business has some form of intellectual property. These forms are:
1. Patents
2. Trademarks
3. Copyright
4. Trade Secret
5. Trade Dress
6. Trade Name
7. Domain Name.
Over the next two weeks, you will be introduced to these concepts. This week, you are to read Chapter 26, pages 605 - 622 of the course text [ (Emerson, W.R.J.D. (2015). Business Law (Barron's Business Review). Barron's Educational Services; Sixth edition)]. You will also see that I posted links to some YouTube videos that help explain patents, trademarks and copyrights. watched the videos and read the material. Also, you should read the information found at https://www.uspto.gov/trademarks/basics/trademark-patent-copyright and https://copyright.gov/history/copyright-exhibit/.
Both of these sites provide useful information in an understandable format.

After you have watched the videos (The links are on a word document i have attached ) and read the material, you need to complete the graded assignment.
ASSIGNMENT:
Pretend for a moment that you are going to start a restaurant. You can call the resturant any name you wish. Describe in an essay all the forms of intellectual property you could have. For each form that you identify provide a definition of the form taken from the course text or from a source on the internet.
