Overview
I had it with another person who did not complete and I updated it. Now just need someone to go over and refine for final submission.
I've done a short rewrite with notes to use the attached document for completion and final submission. Fix wording for AI and plagiarism in the attached, and then I think we have a final version. Grammar, especially transitions, and making sure the big three are present before sending me back, logical arguments, rhetorical positioning and reader orientated.
Thank you in advance.
I have now reviewed Answer_2 carefully and also compared it against independent AI-based assessments (Perplexity,ChatGPT and Claude) to ensure the feedback is balanced, objective, and aligned with the marking criteria.
Below is consolidated feedback highlighting what worked, what was initially problematic, and how the latest revision addressed these issues.
1. Overall assessment
The original Answer_2 demonstrated strong intellectual ambition, solid sourcing, and doctoral-level topic framing. However, in its initial form, it had significant alignment and compliance issues relative to the assignment brief.
Following targeted revisions, the current version is substantially improved and now aligns clearly with the marking criteria for a 7,000-word structured summary.
2. Critical issues identified in the original Answer_2
a) Literature review length (major issue)
The literature review was significantly over-extended, reading more like a full PhD chapter than a condensed structured summary. Key sections (TAM, UTAUT, Innovation Diffusion, SIDS context) contained extensive textbook-style exposition rather than selective synthesis. This pushed the draft well beyond the intended word count and risked examiner fatigue.
b) Missing mandatory component
The required paraphrase exercise (Smith, 2020) was absent. This is a compulsory element and would have resulted in an automatic penalty.
c) Insufficient explicit alignment with marking language
Although logical argument, rhetorical positioning, and reader-oriented writing were present in practice, they were not explicitly signposted in a way that allows assessors to easily map the work to the rubric.
d) Abstract density
The abstract, while strong conceptually, was dense and repetitive, with unnecessary duplication of terms such as “scale-constrained.”
e) Clarity and phrasing issues
Several expressions were awkward or unclear (e.g. “domestically constructed media,” “digital addiction”), giving the impression of rushed drafting rather than controlled academic prose.
3. Strengths already present in Answer_2
It is important to note that even in the earlier version:
The core argument (scale-centric platform theory → SIDS paradox → alternative mechanisms) was sound.
The methodology was well structured and appropriate.
The conceptual synthesis (Section 2.6) was particularly strong.
The reference base was broad, credible, and largely APA-compliant.
These strengths meant the document did not need re-thinking, only re-alignment and tightening.
4. How the latest revision resolves these concerns
The revised version successfully addresses the above issues:
The document is now explicitly framed as a “7,000-word structured summary”, making compliance unmistakable.
Logical argument, rhetorical positioning, and reader-oriented writing are explicitly integrated and named, including a dedicated reflective section that directly responds to the marking criteria.
The Smith (2020) paraphrase has been added, correctly separated and properly cited.
The abstract has been tightened and rewritten to meet doctoral abstract conventions.
A newspaper source has been added to satisfy source-type requirements.
Language has been cleaned up for clarity and academic tone.
Word counts are now transparent and defensible.
Perplexity’s independent assessment correctly noted that the remaining work was not about intellectual quality, but about explicit signaling and structural compliance, which the latest revision now achieves.
5. Final evaluation
In its revised form, the submission:
Clearly meets the intellectual and structural expectations of the assignment
Demonstrates control over academic argumentation
Aligns closely with the marking rubric
Is suitable for submission without risk of technical penalties
In short, the initial draft had good academic substance but critical compliance issues; the current version corrects those issues and presents the work in a way that is both examiner-friendly and academically rigorous.
