Overview
For this assignment, select and research a recent event in which a risky situation occurred (ex. fire, crowd control issue, dissenting group etc.). Assume that you are the event risk manager for this event. Include a short description of the event, and then in a short essay address the following:
- What are some of the problems you would have encountered?
- What stakeholders would have been affected by a negative event?
Based on this week’s content, create a risk matrix, provide steps to minimize the risk, and develop a brief contingency plan for this event.

📌 I have attached all the required articles and references for this assignment. I initially selected the topic “Paris 2024 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony”, but if you find that this event does not fully fit the assignment requirements or that accessing sufficient details is difficult, you may change it and choose any other relevant example, such as a fire, crowd control issue, or dissenting group. The paper must be written in a professional academic tone as if by the student, with full adherence to APA Style, and should include a clear and detailed description of the event, a thorough analysis of risks from all perspectives (security, operational, human, environmental, and communication), the problems faced by the event risk manager, identification of affected stakeholders, a clear risk matrix, practical risk mitigation steps, and a brief but well-structured contingency plan. The professor is very detail-oriented, so the content must be analytical and not simply a summary, and it should avoid directly addressing the reader or professor. The paper should be approximately six pages in length.
