Overview
This assessment requires developing an AI-generated intercultural competence guide comparing Australia and China, followed by a critical academic analysis.
The first part involves using generative AI to produce a 500–600 word practical guide that explains key cultural differences between Australia and China, provides three workplace-based examples of intercultural challenges, and suggests three strategies for effective intercultural communication and collaboration.
The second part is a 750–850 word analysis written independently without AI assistance. This analysis critically evaluates the AI-generated content using established intercultural frameworks, particularly Hofstede’s cultural dimensions and Hall’s high- and low-context communication theory. The analysis assesses the accuracy, limitations, and applicability of the AI’s explanations, examples, and strategies in an Australian–Chinese workplace context.
The assessment also requires transparent disclosure of AI usage, including all prompts and AI-generated responses presented in an appendix, and appropriate academic referencing.
