Overview
Hi, this is a group project. The group leader will compile the slides and other materials. My part is just to answer the question below from the case study in chapter 11 of the book Operations and Supply Chain Management. I have attached chapter 11 for your review.
Is third-party intervention an appropriate intervention in this case? Other possible OD interventions?
Below I will paste the instructions from the group leader, (mine is question #2 and labled *This is my question) followed by the instructions for the professor.
Good morning GROUP ONE!
I have confirmed that the Case Studies to choose from are found in the ODC textbook as "Selected Cases" in Chapters 9, 11, 13, 16, and 20, as well as the "Integrative Cases" at the end of the book. There is supposed to be an announcement today with further instructions. The assignment is straightforward and on par with other slideshow presentations we have likely done in other courses in this program. I am confident we can turn in exemplary work and get full credit for this assignment. I am looking forward to collaborating and am glad to do the heavy lifting on our behalf. Unless things change with any new assignment details, I'd like to suggest the following case, and that we each tackle one of the questions: Chapter 11 "Selected Cases. Lincoln Hospital Third-Party Intervention"
- [Guson] If you had been called by Lincoln's president to help resolve the problems described in the case, how would you have carried out the contracting and diagnosis stages? What would you have done differently than what the OD consultant did?
- *This is my question* Is third-party intervention an appropriate intervention in this case? Other possible OD interventions?
- [Cat] How effective was the third-party intervention? Next steps?
Once we submit our answers to this discussion, I will put together the slideshow and then submit a draft for you to review and proofread. Once we all indicate it's good to go, I will submit it on our behalf.
Purpose
The group case study assignment will allow you to collectively review, discuss, analyze, and formulate answers to an assigned ODC case study pulled from the Cummins and Worley textbook. Your instructor will place you in a group of students. The group will be responsible for picking a case study from the textbook, and the group is not required to seek approval on the case selection.
Parameters
You will work within your group this week to create a minimum 6-slide presentation. The number of slides you present will depend on the number of questions listed in the case study assigned to your group. A case with one question should have at least 6 slides, while a case with 2 should have at least 7. There is no upper limit on the number of slides.
Prompt
No narration is required. The group is required to submit the presentation in MS PowerPoint format. No other presentation formats (Canva, Prezi, etc…) will be accepted. Submissions in any format other than a *.PPT or *.PPTX will not be graded.
Only one member of your group should submit the final presentation, and all group members must agree with the submission.
All group members are required to participate in and contribute meaningfully to the project. They should engage in the project at the beginning of the week and not wait until the last minute to contribute. The instructor may reduce the grades of individual students who do not sufficiently contribute to the project.
Your presentation must meet the following content and formatting requirements:
Header Slide
- All contributing group members (first and last names) are listed on the slide.
- Name of the case and page number in the textbook.
Case Background Slide(s)
- Approximately 2 to 3 slides describing the case.
Case Question(s) Slide(s)
- Slide for each question + corresponding answer of the case. A case with 4 questions will have 4 slides in this section. A case with 5 questions will have 5 slides in this section.
Case Summary Slide
- One slide that summarizes the case and/or provides closing thoughts from the participants.
Reference Slide
- One or more slides that provide the used references in the current APA format.
