Building on what we learned about leadership being a process, we can understand it is much more than just creating workshops, seminars, or programs. It is about the relationship between the leader and follower. As Christians, it first begins by acknowledging our need to be dependent upon our Lord. All Christians are called to lead but that is not enough; we need to lead effectively. Improving biblical leadership effectiveness is often about dependency on God rather than specific leadership competencies such as communication, organizing, planning, and problem solving.
Instructions
Search the bible and identify three separate passages that specifically illustrate three biblical leader’s effectiveness due to his or her dependency on God. There are three sections to this assignment.
First section: State each of the three passages and corresponding biblical leader and analyze how each leader depended on God for his or her leadership effectiveness.Discuss how each leader’s dependence was evident in their behavior and decisions.
Second section: Assess and discuss why the biblical principle of dependence upon God was essential for leadership effectiveness in each biblical example.
Third section: Reflect on your own leadership journey and discuss the importance in understanding and applying the biblical principle of dependence on God for your own leadership development and effectiveness.
Your paper must include:
- Minimum 2000 words – body of the paper (not including the title page, abstract, and references)
- 3 specific and separate biblical passages
- Minimum of 5 scholarly, peer-reviewed sources
- Citations from both texts
- Title page
- Reference page
- Adherence to the APA-7 student version format including but not limited to title page, headings, margins, page numbers, citations, references, font, line spacing, etc.
- Adherence to APA 7 writing style as identified in the APA manual
