Self-Analysis: Interpersonal Behavioral Competencies
Overview
For this journal task, you will conduct a self-reflection of your present strengths, weaknesses, and skill gaps related to the expected interpersonal behavioral competencies required to be a successful HR professional. Use the Interpersonal Cluster in the SHRM model as a guiding resource. In this journal, you will identify strategies to improve upon your weaknesses. This activity will help you develop a clear understanding of the interpersonal behavioral competencies that you will use in the final project.
Journals in this course are private between each student and the instructor. They will be graded individually.
Directions
First, review the required module resources and carefully examine the interpersonal behavioral competencies found in the SHRM resource, which includes three competencies:
- Relationship Management
- Communication
- Global Mindset
When you are familiar with the interpersonal behavioral competencies, for this journal, conduct a self-reflection and analysis by responding to each of these questions:
- Strengths: What are your areas of strength in interpersonal behavioral competencies listed in the prompt? How did you determine that your competencies in this area are strengths? Support your responses using examples.
- Weaknesses: What are your areas of weakness in the interpersonal behavioral competencies listed in the prompt? How did you determine that your competencies in this area are weaknesses? Support your responses using examples.
- Strategies: What are your strategies for developing your interpersonal behavioral competencies? Support your response using examples and information from your research.
Refer to the Module Six resources and other course materials to support your responses. Your instructor will provide feedback on your self-reflection and recommend ways to develop your skills.
What to Submit
Submit assignment as a Microsoft Word document with double spacing, 12-point Times New Roman font, and one-inch margins. Write a minimum of one paragraph of analysis for each of the questions listed above.
