How can leaders move followers from thinking in terms of “me” to “us”? When employees speak the company code, take pride in their affiliation with the firm, and willingly wear the brand outside of the workplace, we can safely assume some of their identity is based on their job with a specific organization. A shared identity among employees impacts quality of work, team member cooperation, support levels when other members need help, and quality of talk about the firm with others inside and outside the organization, among other aspects of performance.
To ensure the efficiency of your research and writing, focus on this question:
How can managers and leaders help team members or employees think in terms of “we” instead of “me"?
Aim for the individual level, not a broad level, in your paper. You may contextualize your comments in the paper in any organizational situation, such as leadership, teamwork, co-worker relationships, etc.
