Weekly Discussion 8 - Leaders of the Future

Leadership is about more than the title you have. It is about guiding and inspiring others to work hard alongside you to accomplish the organization's goals. After completing the Leadership Assessment, you can see where you are strong and where you have areas for growth. This is your chance to reflect on your future as a leader, and how what you've learned here in MGMT 1010 can help.

Assessment 8 - Your Future As a Leader

Instructions:

For your Intial Post (by Wednesday):

  1. Describe what the leadership assessment revealed about your current strengths and areas for improvement. Provide one concrete action you can take to continue to improve. (For example, I scored lower on negotiation related tasks, and I have an opportunity to improve my negotiation skills by taking a free online Coursera course.)
  2. Looking back at what you've learned in this course, provide one insight or concept that you will use in your future - either at work or in classes. Why does this matter to you?

For your Replies (at least 2, by Saturday):

Reply to at least two other students. In addition to what's listed in the syllabus, offer encouragement or suggestions on how someone can be successful with their specific action.

Posts and replies should be complete thoughts, add value, and be written using College English. They should also contain examples and/or reference to the text/lecture where appropriate. Be sure to check back regularly and answer any questions posed to you. See the course syllabus for the quantity requirements and for more details. You won't have access to others' posts until you post in the forum.

AI Use: Not permitted. I expect thoughts and writing to be solely yours. Content and format of a post/reply that resembles AI will result in a zero-pause in grading, and require a meeting with me.

The course and college academic integrity policies apply to all submissions. I expect the work submitted here to be your own, and not that of other sources such as the text, internet, homework sites, artificial intelligence, or other individuals. When you adhere to the academic integrity policies, you ensure that your achievements are a true representation of your skills and abilities. Hard work now helps ensure your future success. I look forward to reviewing your work and providing helpful feedback!
