Overview
This week’s assignment we will continue using the ProjectPlace software and continue using the project that you started for your prior project. Remember, any support you need with logging in or with the software should be done via UniversityPPM
- Log into Projectplace using your school e-mail and the password you created.
- Watch the following videos:
- ProjectPlace Whiteboards
- BADM636-Project Assignment 3 Video
- Review the following instructions:
- Creating Whiteboards
- Stakeholder Engagement Matrix
- Navigate to your existing project in ProjectPlace
- Click on the Workspaces menu, which should open your workspace. If you are in multiple courses, you may need to click on the Workspaces sub-menu to change which workspace you are in.
- Navigate to the Whiteboards tab on the top of your workspace.
- First, we are going to create a project monitoring and controlling mindmap
- Choose the option to create a Mindmap whiteboard (using the Mindmap template)
- Replace the center bubble with your project name
- Then add in the surrounding four bubbles with different Monitor & Control Deliverables (research online as applicable)
- Then add in specific tasks that would occur in the bubbles for each of the deliverables.
- Export the Mindmap using the menu (three little lines) and choose copy to clipboard. Paste into a Word document with a page title of “Monitor & Controlling Mindmap”.
- Second, create a new Mindmap by choose the create option (no template). Here we are going to create a Stakeholder Engagement Assessment Matrix. Using different line tools and text tools within the Mindmap, create a matrix similar to that provided in the reading above "Stakeholder Engagement Matrix". The matrix should include a column for the Stakeholder name/group, and columns of “Unaware, Resistant, Neutral, Supportive, Leading.” Then populate their Current and Desired state for each stakeholder. Be creative here with the different stakeholders you might have for your project. Include at least ten. Once done, copy and paste into a Word document with a page title “Stakeholder Engagement Matrix”
- Next, navigate to the “Status” tab. This is where you report the status of your project to a Portfolio Manager. Choose the Update button.
- Change the cost status to be “Deviation from Plan.” In the box below, populate your name along with the text saying “- costs exceeding at a 5% pace above plan.”
- Change the risks status to be “Major deviation.” In the box below it, populate your name along with the text saying “- major new risk identified”
- Update the other statuses to “No deviation”
- Choose Save
- Take a screen snip of this status and include as an additional page within your word document titled “Project Status”
- Next, navigate to the Reports tab. Take a screen snip of the section labeled “Milestones” and include that in your word document on the same page as your Project Status.
- Next, on the Reports tab, also take a screen snip of the section labeled “Activities Progress” and include that in your word document on the same page of your Project Status.
- Submit the word document with three pages for grading.
