Marketing Website

This project will help you practice the fundamentals of web design, including successful page layout, navigation hierarchy, content strategy, and user interface concepts. In addition, this project will teach you the basics of using online tools like websites to promote yourself professionally. After completing the project, you'll have a professional portfolio to use as you apply for internships and jobs.

Project Details

Creating a personal portfolio can help you define yourself as a professional to prospective employers. It allows you to express your brand, showcase your education and work, and highlight your skills.

Using WixLinks to an external site., design a small portfolio website that showcases your work/projects from school, internships, or jobs and reflects your personal brand. For this assignment, your portfolio website should include multiple pages, including:

  • A homepage with a brief introduction and appropriate teaser information
  • An about you page with autobiographical details and a statement of purpose
  • A portfolio page with highlights of your work
  • A blog with a 600 word blog post highlighting your expertise in your subject area
  • A contact page

How you design and structure your site and content is up to you. However, you should use the UX and web design best practices discussed in class to format your website, individual pages, and content. Think about the end motivations of your intended users, the information they'd want to see, where they'd want to see it, and how they'd navigate your site. You may even consider some user testing to make sure your website is properly designed and free of any bugs before submitting.
