Final Personal Website Project Assignment
Final Personal Micro Website Project
Instruction:
See the following documents that outline deliverable details with screenshots.
NOTE 7/29/25: Weebly recently offered 2 options for the free platforms... one is the typical Weebly site - which I believe most of you have been using. The second (and new) option is a site + shop. SO, if you picked the site + shop when setting up your website, there is not an options to put in the Meta keywords into the backend of your site like the instructions show. You can still take a screenshot that shows the SEO settings for each page, but it would only show the page title and the meta description. It does not have the Meta keywords option. SO - if you picked the site + shop option, here is your adjustment for the assignment: Do the SEO screenshots for each page and then in the Word doc where you have the screenshots, just write in the 10 long-tail keywords for each page underneath. The ONLY real difference is that you don't have a place to actually put the Meta keywords into your website backend.
🔧 WHAT YOU NEED TO DO (STEP-BY-STEP):
1. Build a Website with 3 Pages (Minimum)
Use Weebly (free version) or another free website builder.
The 3 pages should include:
🔹 1. Contact Page
- Add a LinkedIn icon and hyperlink it (I’ll provide the link).
- Include a professional photo of me (I’ll provide this).
- Add a contact form or an email address (I’ll give my email).
🔹 2. About Me Page (Bio)
-
Write at least 2 full paragraphs about me.
- I’ll send you basic details: major, experience, interests, etc.
🔹 3. Portfolio Page
- Upload my resume (I’ll send the file).
-
Add at least 4 work samples with:
- An image for each (I’ll send any I have).
-
A short paragraph explaining:
- What the work is.
- My role in it.
- What I learned or accomplished.
- Optional: Add certifications, blog posts, internship samples, etc. (I’ll provide anything I have).
2. Use Images/Videos
- Every image must have a caption or description.
- I’ll tell you which photos I have permission to use.
- If no attribution is needed, just write “No attribution needed” in the final doc.
3. Design/Style
- Make the site look professional and clean (use my style guide—I’ll send this).
- No grammar/spelling errors.
4. SEO Screenshots (Backend Settings)
For EACH of the 3 pages:
- Go to SEO settings.
-
Screenshot the page settings showing:
- Page title
- Page description (150–160 characters, third person)
-
If available: Meta keywords (minimum 10 per page)
- ⚠️ If Weebly doesn’t allow keywords (site + shop version), just write them below the screenshot in the Word doc.
Also:
- Screenshot the site-wide SEO settings showing Google Analytics (even if not linked), site description, and keywords.
5. Assemble the Final Word Document
This is what you’ll turn in. It should include:
-
Screenshots of SEO settings for each page (3 pages).
-
Under each screenshot, type:
- Page description
- A numbered list of 10 long-tail keywords.
-
Under each screenshot, type:
- Site-wide SEO settings screenshot.
- Copy and paste my website goals (I’ll send).
- Copy and paste my style guide (I’ll send).
-
Attribution section:
- If no images/music need attribution, just write: “No attribution needed
