Chapter 10 - Assignment (Build The Website)

Provide a thoughtful 250+ word response to all of the questions below (250 words total, not for each section). Please separate your answers by the parts of the question. It makes it easier to see your specific response to each part.

This is a POST FIRST discussion board. That means you can see responses by your classmates ONLY after you post your response. Your first post counts so if it's blank that's what you are graded on. You cannot go back and edit your posts after you submit them.

BUILD THE WEBSITE

Now that you’ve completed a competitive review for your client in Chapter 9 - Assignment (Competitive Review) (which means you'll want to complete that first), next you’ll help your client (remember, they are new winery) build their own website. This means you are building a brand new website for your client, not starting with an existing site. Use what you learned from the previous assignment to use the best and avoid the worst.

  1. Using this Website Content Checklist Download this Website Content Checklist, describe your new site. This should include a list of main and sub navigation for the site, along with a brief explanation of what would be included on each page (including the homepage). Be sure to explain each section (website tagline, social proof, navigation, etc.)
  2. Create a call to action that should be used on the website.
  3. Using the Digital Marketing Strategy Framework from Chapter 10, explain how your website helps with each of the 4 steps in the framework.

EXTRA CREDIT OPPORTUNITY:

I am willing to award 5 extra credit points for any ONE of the below.

  • Homepage Mockup: This does not have to be high tech. I am just looking for a visual of what the homepage of the website would look like.
  • Website Mockup: Using Wordpress.com or Wix.com which allows you to build a free website, put together a mockup of a sample site and sent it to me.
  • Visual website map. You can use Microsoft Word to create a "hierarchy" and show the navigation like the example attached Download the example attached.
