Introduction
As a leader, you will be expected to understand workplace environments. Employee teams are the main stakeholders for organizations. For this assignment, you will interview two separate people in the organization you chose for your Capstone Project.
It is important to plan ahead so you can submit your interview assignment on time at the end of week 3.
Activity Instructions
For this activity, you will interview 2 different members of the organization you are using for your Capstone Project. One should be the Owner, President/CEO or a senior member of the team. The second interview should be a peer, a subordinate or a staff member who does not have managerial responsibility.
You will create a formal assessment of leadership skills and workplace satisfaction perspectives. You will format your paper in two main parts, one for each interview. Additionally, you will summarize the workplace environment. Your paper must include an introduction and conclusion, as well as references. Headers are REQUIRED.
Contents should include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Leadership styles that are necessary for each level.
o Note – even a staff member with no supervisory duties should have a leadership style and an expectation as what skills a supervisor should have to be effective
• What creates a positive workplace environment.
• How both levels perceive the current workplace culture.
• Perspective on what is needed to maintain a positive work-life balance.
• How each level can support each other and expectations.
• What skills are needed to obtain future opportunities and promotions.
Be sure to utilize the same criteria for each interview so that you can compare and contrast both equally.
Your paper should be about 4 to 6 pages (minimum) but no more than 8 pages, not including a cover page, should follow APA style and written from a first-person perspective. Be sure to use headers for this assignment. Thispaper should be a synopsis of your interview, not a summary or outlining of the questions and answers provided. The following criteria will be used to grade your project:
• Breadth of coverage
• Direct connections to the course via in-text citations
• Evidence of analysis and understanding of the course content
• Organization, completeness, grammar and writing style and coherence of the materials presented.
Writing Requirements (APA format)
• 4-6 pages (approx. 300 words per page), not including title page or references page
• 1-inch margins
• Double spaced
• 12-point Times New Roman font
• Title page with topic and name of student
• References page (minimum of 5 resources)
Grading and Assessment Grading will be based on the Week 3 Interview Rubric.
