  2. Plan travel logistics: a. Mileage and Parking: Determine the distance from your location to the airport and estimate the mileage. Calculate the cost of mileage based on the standard rate per mile. Include parking fees for the duration of your trip. b. Flight: Research flight options to the destination. Take note of departure and arrival times, airlines, and prices. Create a "fake booking" by taking screenshots of the flight options and their costs. c. Rental Car and Gas: If a rental car is necessary, research options and compare prices. Estimate the cost of gas for the duration of your trip. d. Hotel: Find suitable accommodations near the event venue. Consider factors such as distance, amenities, and cost. Document the hotel options and their prices. e. Food and Other Expenses: Estimate daily food expenses and any additional costs you might incur during the trip, such as transportation within the city, conference registration fees, or equipment rentals.
  3. Create a budget: Compile all the information gathered and create a detailed budget for your trip. Include a breakdown of expenses, such as mileage, parking, flight, rental car, gas, hotel, food, luggage, and any other relevant costs. Present the budget in a clear and organized manner.
  4. Organize a schedule: Using the information collected, create a schedule with important travel dates and times. Include departure and arrival times, flight details, hotel check-in/check-out times, and any other relevant information related to your travel.
  5. Reflection: Write a reflective essay of approximately 300 words about the process of finding information and numbers for your travel plan. Discuss any challenges you faced, the strategies you used to gather accurate information, and the lessons you learned from the experience. Reflect on the importance of budgeting and planning when organizing a trip for a sales competition.

Submission Guidelines: Submit a single Word document that includes:

  • Budget: Clearly present your budget with the breakdown of expenses.
  • Schedule: Create a schedule with important travel dates and times.
  • Screenshots: Include screenshots of the flight options and prices, as well as any other relevant items you priced.
  • Reflection: Write a 300-word reflective essay about the process and lessons learned.

Note: This assignment is designed to simulate the process of planning and budgeting for a trip, and the "fake booking" aspect is meant to demonstrate research skills rather than actually booking the travel.
