“Good morning / afternoon group. I found a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom ranch home that is mostly rectangular for us to begin with. https://www.familyhomeplans.com/plan-77400
I will do the master bedroom.
Master bedroom: 14'0 x 12'6= 14' x 13' = 182 ft?2
I found farmhouse chestnut wood look flooring priced at $1.99/ square foot
Master Bedroom flooring cost: 182 x 1.99 = $362.18
Ranch Home Flooring prices Bedroom # 2 : 12'0 x 11'6 = 12' x 12' = 144 ft ^2 Bedroom #2 flooring cost: 144 x $1.99 = $286.56 Bedroom # 3: 12'0 x 11'6 = 12' x 12' = 144 ft ^2 Bedroom # 3 flooring cost : 144 x $1.99 = $286.56”
Post 1: Initial Response
Once the floor plan is chosen, each group member (including the student who posted the floor plan) will pick one of the following costs and post the results. In your post, be sure to:
- Include all area/perimeter and cost calculations.
- Round all dimensions in the floor plans to the nearest foot.
- Inform your fellow group members of the cost you will work on by typing it in the subject line of your post.
Exterior Gutters: Add 2 feet in all directions to the outside dimensions of the home to account for a 2 feet overhang of the roof (you may have to do some estimating if the floor plans do not include all dimensions). Calculate the outside perimeter of the roof including the 2-foot extension. Explore gutter options online and calculate the total cost (assume all four sides of the house are going to have gutters - ignore downspouts). Include the URL for your gutter choice in your post.

The construction team wants to be sure that all options on the project are being explored. Find a classmate’s initial post on your group Discussion Board that has not yet been replied to by a fellow classmate. In your reply:
- Double check their perimeter/area calculations.
- Explore different material options online and calculate the total cost using your new chosen materials.
- Include the URL for your choice in your post.

Based off of Michael's measurements of the master bedroom, I was able to calculate how much crown moulding I need for the entire room.
Mater bedroom – 14-0 x 12-6 = 14’ x 13’ = 182 ft ^2
I chose this moulding and 2 orders of it because it would fit better then smaller crown moulding pieces.
My total came up to $218.

Reply to a second classmate’s post in your group Discussion Board. Post several sentences that are thoughtful and advance your group project mathematically. Suggestions include:
- Reflecting on the cost and why you feel it’s reasonable or unreasonable,
- Proposing a tweak to the dimensions of the room and why,
- Etc.
