Overview
Utilizing at least some elements from one or more of the philosophical theories of knowledge discussed in the assigned readings, describe a logically coherent theory of knowledge that includes
(1)a definition of knowledge
(2) an explanation as to how humans can acquire our knowledge of the world around us
(3) an explanation of the difference between truly knowing something and merely believing it
(4) at least one specific example of that difference, making it clear how a person could use this theory to distinguish real knowledge from mere belief. You may wish to do this by simply selecting one of the theories we have studied, and presenting its answers to these questions, or you may wish to develop your own theory, which is different from any of these (but perhaps draws some elements from some of them).
you must also perform a critical evaluation of the theory you have presented in which you either
(A) present a potential objection to your theory, and defend the theory by responding to that objection
or
(B) demonstrate a critical flaw in the theory and then present (in the same manner as above) an alternative theory, which does not contain the same flaw (this will require you to repeat steps (1-4) for your alternative theory).
