Overview
I'm working on a philosophy multi-part question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.
In the third and final part of I and Thou, Buber turns to a discussion of God. He makes this move in the conviction that the I-You relation to God and the I-You relation to others are related to each other. He has already hinted at this in places we've read (see, e.g., p. 57: “in every You we address the eternal You”). Pay particular attention to this correlation.
1. What is the “Eternal You”?
2. When we speak the word “God,” what are we usually doing?
3. What is “revelation” according to Buber?
4. According to Buber what is the problem with our way of declaring “belief in” God?
5. According to Buber, what makes God seem not to be there?
