Weekly Posts:
Every week inquirers are expected to post a response to the provided readings. On top of this, inquirers should respond to at least two other posts by other inquirers. These secondary posts should either aim to address questions brought up, attempt to clarify, or attempt to further develop the conversation. Philosophy requires dialogue, the best way to do this is to talk amongst yourselves. The initial response, and the replies, should both endeavor to use the Good Thinker’s Toolkit. If I can see what is troubling you, then I can address it via audio- lecture or a response of my own.
Midterm Paper
The midterm paper asks inquirers to compare two different philosophical viewpoints on a subject (to be determined), and then formulate their own opinion on the topic. Ultimately, this paper is judged on two fronts: knowledge of the two separate philosophies, and implementation of critical thinking in arguing for one’s own belief.
Final Paper
The final paper topic will be posted in depth closer to the end of class. However, it should be noted that this paper will provide several options. This way one can write about a topic that interests them.
