We have witnessed arguments for and against the death penalty.
Argument for Death Penalty:
P1: The DP creates fear of committing crimes. P2: The DP protects society. P3: Murderers deserve to be executed. -------------- C: Therefore, there should be a death penalty.
Argument Against Death Penalty:
P1: Innocent people receive the death penalty. P2: People of color are more likely to receive the death penalty, which is unjust. P3: The DP is more expensive than life in prison. P4: The DP is inhumane and cruel punishment. ------------------
C: Therefore, there should be no death penalty.
