Overview
Hick argues that the existence of God can be rationally reconciled with the presence of evil. Is Hick’s reconciliation successful? Justify your position. Begin your essay by briefly describing the problem of evil and then presenting Hick’s argument that the presence of evil does not render belief in God irrational (being sure to discuss his distinction of, and explanation for, moral and non-moral evil). Next, critically evaluate his view by discussing one criticism against it. Finally, determine whether or not Hick can successfully address this criticism. (If Hick has addressed the concern you raise in his article, be sure to include his response)
