Overview
Write an argumentative essay responding to the question bellow. Your essay should have a clear thesis, and use textual evidence (no particular amount) and analysis to support that thesis.
- (i) Imagine something evil: a murder, systemic oppression, or even a natural disaster. Use one of the philosophical theories we discussed (utilitarianism, deontology, or virtue ethics) to explain what makes it evil; (ii) explain why this account of evil is more plausible than one of the other theories. Note your essay should have a clear thesis.
- Note as well: when explaining why the theory you endorse is more plausible than the one you’re objecting to, strong essays will clearly explain both views before explaining why the favored one is more plausible.
