Your second written assignment, a 3-page essay, satisfies SLOs (2) and (3), which are:

(2) Describe how political, social, or cultural systems, in the past or present, have produced and sustained ideas of difference and, in the face of that, how marginalized groups have meaningfully engaged in self-definition

and

(3) Examine individual and collective responses for addressing practices of disenfranchisement, segregation, or exclusion.

Thus, you are asked to do the following:

After reading K. Crenshaw’s "Demarginalizing the Intersection of Race and Sex A Black Feminist Critique of Antidiscrimination Doctrine, Feminist Theory, and Antiracist Politics " and listening to the instructor’s lecture on the

Lays out the GM case (For this item you may find the primer and the presentation on intersectionality useful. Use it!)

Explains how African Americans sought to resist GM’s oppression by defining themselves (self-definition)

Argues that the form these African American women’s resistance took sought a win not for themselves as individuals but rather for African American women as a group.
