Overview
Hi All Paper 2 is due today and I have to come to a public library tomorrow to access the internet to be able to read all of the papers. I am on the west coast and will do this around 12 noon your time. I am 3 hours early then you and where I am staying there is no internet. Email be your assignments. The exact date the semester is over has not yet been announced but I will let you know as soon as I hear. I am sending out the following email to help plan out the next assignments and will move files around in Bb to help you. If you want to finish the semester early you just have to complete the work and sent it to me. Paper 3 adds what is called anticipatory ethics to what we have done this semester. Anticipatory ethics adds technological development to ethical analysis. The easiest thing to do is to write a paper similar to paper 2 and then add anticipatory ethics to the end of that paper. If you can figure out how some kind of technology affects what the technical issues are in your case you can expand case to by adding the anticipatory ethics to the end of paper 2. You just have to explain how technology is related to your case. See below for paper 3 The 3rd paper assignment has 2 parts. Paper 3 involves both a paper and PowerPoint assignment. I have put materials to guide you under paper 3 assignment in Blackboard at the top of the Bb menu. There are 2 PP's describing Anticipatory Ethics in the Paper 3 folder. Read the PP's. They are fairly short. Anticipatory Ethics is concerned with trying to project into the future issues with emerging technologies. We are concerned in paper 3 with emerging Issues in Information computer technologies and ethical issues these future information computer technologies will present. This assignment requires that you think a little about future developments with the subject that you case is related to in terms of anticipatory ethics. I have also put into Bb 2 sets rough notes on Cyber security and Information warfare. There are a large number of subjects in these notes. I would like you to pick a topic from one of these handouts or a subject or case from Chapters 15 -17 in the Seay and Nutcettilli textbook for case study 3. If you can find a case related to one of the topics you find in these rough notes you can analyze the case. I will also put some samples of paper 3 in the paper 3 materials folder along with PP's for those papers a Paper 3 and the PP of paper 3 are due over the next 2 weeks and all work needs to be done by 2 weeks from today but there will be several extra days at the end of the semester so as soon as I notified I will tell you the exact date all remaining material must be submitted to me. You have a great deal of time to accomplish this work so try to find a topic you are interested in. It is also possible if you have picked a topic that involves technological development for you to expand paper 2 into paper 3. This will involve adding anticipatory ethics to the end of paper 2. I will send some additional detail about how to do this tomorrow after I have read Paper 2. email me with any questions. rwilson
