The Essay Prompt
Both Darrin M. McMahon (“From the Happiness of Virtue to the Virtue of Happiness”, Pursuing Happiness, pgs. 45-55) and Jon Mecham (“Free to be Happy”, Pursuing Happiness, p. 72) make extensive use of the work of Western philosophers to develop their ideas. Consider how they use these sources. What are the similarities? Where do they diverge? Write an essay in which you cite both authors to compare the way they use sources as they develop their own philosophies of happiness.

- Is at least 1000 words but now more than 1250 words
